The Wingfield Tournament

The Club enjoyed a lovely afternoon of tennis and weather, on Sat June 28th June, as it welcomed non members and members alike, to this year’s Wingfield Tournament. With 24 participants attending and a high standard of play throughout the afternoon, the mixed doubles partners were picked randomly and a handicap system was in place to take account of differing playing standards.

After 3 hours of mixed play, a riveting final was played between partners Harvey Stuart and Amy Roberts and their opponents, Bill Stuart and Christine Pickford, with Harvey and Amy victors in a closely fought match.
